Re2O vs Rejuran vs Juvelook: 4 Differences That Decide Which Skin Booster Fits

Dr. Designer Clinic Yeongdeungpo · Updated 2026-09 · Korean original ↗

"How is Re2O different from Rejuran?" It is the question we now hear most about skin boosters. New products keep arriving and the names alone say little. Here is what Re2O is made of, how its approach differs from the boosters you already know, and how many sessions to plan.

1. What Re2O is

Re2O (Rituo) is a skin booster made from human acellular dermal matrix (hADM): a product made from processed donated human dermis, injected into the dermal layer. Its main content is extracellular matrix (ECM), the structural material of our own skin: collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid.

hADM has long been used in burn and reconstructive surgery to rebuild tissue. The processing removes the cellular components that could trigger an immune response.

2. It replaces structure instead of stimulating it

This is the key to understanding Re2O. Most skin boosters work by prompting the skin to make its own material: PN from salmon DNA stimulates cells, biodegradable polymers stimulate collagen production. The body has to respond, so results take time.

Re2O aims to supplement ECM, the structural component of skin. By improving the environment of a thinned dermis it may improve density and firmness; how soon changes appear varies from person to person.

3. Compared with Rejuran and Juvelook

MechanismSupplements structural components (ECM)Improves repair environmentStimulates collagen
Best forThinned skin, low densityWeak recovery, fine linesPores, shallow scars

All three work in the dermis but start from different points. The question is whether your skin lacks a repair signal or the structure itself. Because the goals differ, they are sometimes planned together. See our guides on Rejuran for more.

4. How many sessions, how far apart

We usually plan three sessions 3–4 weeks apart as a course, with changes expected to build over the sessions. Maintenance is typically one session every 6–12 months, varying from person to person. A cannula technique is available for patients who bruise easily.

Who we do not recommend it for

  • Pregnant or breastfeeding patients.
  • Active infection or inflammatory skin disease in the area.
  • Autoimmune conditions affecting the skin, or a history of keloids, until reviewed by the doctor.
  • Anyone uncomfortable with a human-tissue-derived product; we respect that and suggest alternatives.

On the day

  • Numbing cream for 20–30 minutes; the session itself takes about 30 minutes.
  • Avoid alcohol the day before. Do not stop prescribed medication on your own; tell us in advance about any medication and supplements you take.
  • Expect mild swelling or small bumps for 1–3 days.

Frequently asked questions

Re2O or Rejuran, which is right for me?
If the skin feels thin and has lost density, Re2O. If the main issue is slow recovery, texture and fine lines, Rejuran. We often use both over time.
It is human-derived. Is it safe?
The material is processed to remove cells. hADM has been used in reconstructive surgery, but as an injectable its efficacy and safety are explained on the basis of the product's own data. As with any injectable, local reactions such as swelling and bruising are possible.
How many sessions?
Three, 3–4 weeks apart, then maintenance every 6–12 months.
What about bumps and downtime?
Mild swelling and small bumps are possible for 1–3 days; the degree varies.
Can thin areas like the eyes be treated?
Selected areas can, using a fine needle or cannula. The doctor decides after examining skin thickness.
