English-Speaking Dermatologist near Yeouido and Yeongdeungpo: A Guide for Expats

Dr. Designer Clinic Yeongdeungpo · Updated 2026-09 · Korean original ↗

If you live or work in Yeouido, Yeongdeungpo or Mullae and want a dermatology clinic where you can be treated in English without a translator, this guide covers what matters: how to get here, what a first visit looks like, what it costs and what is different from clinics in Gangnam.

Where we are, and how long it takes from Yeouido

Dr. Designer Clinic Yeongdeungpo is on the 2nd floor of Fairfield by Marriott Seoul Yeongdeungpo, 200 metres from Yeongdeungpo Station Exit 5 on Line 1.

English at every step, not just at the front desk

Our coordinators interpret during consultation and treatment and relay your concerns to the doctor exactly as you said them. Two coordinators are Chinese-speaking as well. The doctor explains the plan and the written quote in plain terms, and you can message the same coordinator on WhatsApp afterwards. You do not need to bring a Korean-speaking friend.

What a first visit looks like

  1. Book a slot on WhatsApp (+82 10-5825-4842) or the online form. Walk-ins are fine, but a booking shortens the wait.
  2. Bring your passport or ARC. Registration takes five minutes.
  3. Coordinator consultation, then the doctor examines your skin and recommends a plan. No upselling; if a treatment is not right for you, we say so.
  4. Written quote before anything starts. Consultation and treatment are usually done the same day.
  5. Numbing cream if needed, then treatment by the doctor. Every transducer and injectable is unsealed in front of you.
  6. Written aftercare and a direct contact for questions.

What it costs

Prices are listed on each treatment page and in this month's offers, in Korean won, excluding 10% VAT. Foreigners pay the same as Korean patients; there is no "foreigner price" and no agency commission. Cards (Visa, Mastercard, AMEX, JCB, UnionPay), Alipay, WeChat Pay and Apple Pay are accepted. Note that the VAT refund scheme for foreign visitors' cosmetic treatments ended in January 2026, so tax refunds are not currently available.

How this differs from a Gangnam clinic

  • Local patients first. Most of our patients are Yeongdeungpo and Yeouido residents who come back and bring friends. Foreign patients see the same doctors and pay the same prices; products are chosen after consultation.
  • No hard sell. You see a doctor, not a sales consultant with a quota.
  • Genuine devices and genuine consumables. Ultherapy Prime, Thermage FLX, InMode, Onda. Single-use consumables such as Thermage tips and injectables are opened at your bedside.
  • Ten minutes from your desk. Lunch-break Botox or a Shurink session and back to the office. See our lunch-break guide.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need an appointment?
No, but a WhatsApp booking shortens the wait, especially after 6 pm on weekdays.
Can I use Korean health insurance (NHIS)?
Aesthetic treatments are not covered by NHIS in Korea, for Koreans or foreigners. Medical skin conditions (acne, eczema) are treated and may be partly covered; ask at registration.
Do you treat men?
Yes. Botox, jaw slimming, skin boosters and lifting are common requests from men, and about a third of our patients are men.
Is there a Chinese-speaking coordinator?
Yes, two. Japanese-speaking staff are also available.
What if I have a question after treatment?
Message your coordinator on WhatsApp with a photo. We reply during clinic hours.
